The DiMenna Center for Classical Music

The DiMenna Center for Classical Music is a bookable New York venue for musicians, ensembles and event organisers seeking spaces designed around live and recorded music. Its two halls accommodate different-sized gatherings, from intimate chamber performances and rehearsals to larger concerts and receptions. The Mary Flagler Cary Hall holds up to 250 people, while the Norman S. Benzaquen Hall has capacity for up to 85. Both offer hardwood floors, vaulted ceilings, a grand piano, chairs, tables and music stands. Cary Hall also includes theatrical rigging and lighting, and its acoustic design supports a range of musical uses.

The centre can be hired for rehearsals, recording sessions, performances, receptions and other events. Its smaller green room is suitable for sectionals, small ensemble rehearsals and recording projects, as well as serving as artist preparation space, a dressing room, a conference breakout area or a VIP lounge. For recording and production work, the facility includes a dedicated control room with professional mixing and recording equipment, and in-house recording services are available through Audiosmith Digital Solutions. Livestreaming is also among the centre’s capabilities.

Based in Manhattan’s Hell’s Kitchen neighbourhood, the venue is near public transport, hotels, restaurants and parking. Its spaces are available by enquiry and rental agreement, with organisers able to specify their event type, room and technical requirements when requesting a booking. The facility has step-free access to its spaces via lifts, accessible bathrooms and a wheelchair on site.
