The Penthouse Hyde Park

The Penthouse Hyde Park is a rooftop event venue in Chicago’s Hyde Park neighbourhood, offering organisers a distinctive setting for weddings, receptions, corporate gatherings, galas and milestone celebrations. Its principal spaces are a ballroom and an adjoining open-air terrace, giving guests the option to move between an elegant indoor room and an outdoor rooftop area. Large arched windows frame views across the city and Lake Michigan, while restored architectural details bring character to the space.

The venue is designed to give hosts room to shape the look and format of an event. Its ballroom has a clean, adaptable style that can suit formal dinners, dancing, cocktail receptions and themed celebrations. The terrace extends the usable event space and offers an outdoor setting when weather permits. The venue’s published capacities are up to 180 guests for seated dinners and 200 for cocktail-style events.

For bookings, the rental includes exclusive use of the ballroom and terrace, a two-storey VIP suite, a catering preparation kitchen, tables, chairs and portable bars. The VIP suite provides a private place for hosts or guests to prepare and take a break. Organisers can work with the venue’s recommended catering partners, and outside caterers may be considered with approval. The venue also outlines arrangements for event set-up, breakdown, décor and parking, helping planners understand practical requirements before booking.

Located in the historic former Piccadilly building, The Penthouse Hyde Park combines a memorable rooftop outlook with facilities suited to both social and business occasions. Its flexible layout and indoor-outdoor connection make it a bookable venue for organisers seeking a distinctive Chicago location for a celebration or gathering.
