Chelsea Depot Association

The Chelsea Depot Association rents the restored Historic Chelsea Train Depot in Chelsea, Michigan, for private celebrations and community or business gatherings. Its characterful railway-station setting is available for weddings and receptions, birthday parties, anniversaries, family reunions, showers, memorials, craft shows and meetings. Organisers rent the building for their chosen date and can arrange the rooms to suit their event.

The depot has two connected event rooms. The larger east room provides an open gathering space, while the smaller west room can be used for dining, dancing or a separate activity area. Tables and chairs are included, and the venue also has accessible parking, restrooms and an on-site kitchen with food preparation and warming facilities. A counter adjoining the kitchen can serve as a bar or refreshments area.

For presentations and entertainment, the building offers a sound system, microphone and projection screen. A television on a rolling cart is available for an additional charge, while organisers bring their own projector when needed. Heating and air conditioning help make the space usable throughout the year, and outdoor benches offer another place for guests to gather.

The depot is a self-arranged venue rather than a full-service catering operation. Organisers may bring food or hire their own caterer, and are responsible for leaving the building in good order after their booking. The association provides rental information and a cleanup checklist to help plan the day. With its historic details, flexible layout and intimate scale, the depot suits events where guests want a distinctive local setting and the freedom to shape their own arrangements.
