UT Tyler Cowan Center

UT Tyler Cowan Center is a performing arts venue on the University of Texas at Tyler campus, serving the university and the wider East Texas community. Its main space, Jim and Bonna Bess Vaughn Auditorium, seats around 2,000 and has a full-size stage suited to large performances, graduations, conferences and other sizeable gatherings. The auditorium's orchestra pit can be adjusted for different stage arrangements, making the room adaptable to both musical and theatrical productions.

Event organisers can also request smaller spaces within the centre. The White Lobby is suited to meetings, luncheons and intimate dinners, while the Green Room can provide a more compact setting for gatherings and event-related use. The venue accepts requests from community organisations as well as university groups, subject to availability and its scheduling requirements. Cowan Center performances take priority in the booking calendar, so organisers should contact the venue to discuss dates, room layouts and event needs.

The centre has technical and backstage facilities to support performances and presentations, and its event management team coordinates venue use and setup. Its programme of touring shows, concerts and arts events also makes it a prominent cultural destination in Tyler. For planners seeking a large auditorium or a smaller campus setting, the Cowan Center offers several distinct spaces for public, educational and community occasions.
