Cahn Auditorium

Cahn Auditorium is a large, traditional performance venue on Northwestern University's Evanston campus. With seating for around 1,000 people, a stage and an orchestra pit, it is suited to events where an audience needs a clear view of a live presentation or performance. The auditorium is used for musical theatre, opera, concerts, speeches, convocation ceremonies and other large-scale gatherings.

The venue is managed for reservations through Norris University Center's event team. Northwestern schools, departments and student organisations can enquire about booking the space, with different arrangements and rates depending on the type of booking. Organisers can contact the venue team to discuss availability, performance or rehearsal needs, and the practical requirements of their event.

Cahn is primarily an auditorium rather than a reception venue. It does not have pre-function space, and receptions and meals cannot be accommodated there, so planners should consider this when deciding whether the space fits their programme. Its auditorium format makes it a strong option for theatre productions, formal addresses, ceremonies and audience-focused events that need a substantial seated capacity.

The venue is located at 600 Emerson Street in Evanston. Accessibility features listed for the building include a wheelchair-accessible entrance and parking, as well as a hearing loop. Event organisers should confirm the current booking conditions, technical arrangements, accessibility details and availability directly with Norris before planning their event.
