The Civic Theatre

The Civic Theatre is a historic performance venue in downtown New Orleans that also welcomes organisers planning private and corporate events. First built in 1906, the theatre retains its distinctive architectural character while offering modern production facilities and flexible room configurations.

The space can be adapted for concerts, receptions, galas, branded events, fashion shows, filming and other productions. Its modular hydraulic flooring system allows the layout to change to suit different formats, while projection and audiovisual capabilities support performances, presentations and live recordings. Organisers can request technical specifications when planning an event, making it possible to discuss production requirements with the venue team in advance.

The theatre also has a dedicated offering for weddings and receptions. Couples can plan a ceremony and celebration in the venue, with options to customise the setting and discuss details such as cocktails and photography. The published capacities vary by format: receptions can accommodate up to 400 guests, seated dinners with a dance floor up to 250, and ceremonies with receptions up to 175.

Located within reach of the French Quarter, the Superdome and nearby hotels, the Civic is a distinctive choice for organisers seeking a central New Orleans setting. Its historic interior, adaptable floor and event-focused booking team make it suitable for celebrations, brand occasions and live productions. The venue also operates as a concert space, with a programme of ticketed performances throughout the year.
