The Historic German House

The Historic German House is a restored 1908 venue in Rochester's South Wedge, available for weddings, receptions, corporate gatherings and other celebrations. Its historic architecture, tall ceilings, original hardwood floors and chandeliers give events a distinctive setting, while flexible layouts allow the rooms to be arranged for different occasions and guest numbers.

Couples can hold their ceremony and reception in the same venue, with a private suite for getting ready and a team to help coordinate the event and its schedule. The main ballroom can accommodate up to 160 guests for a seated wedding reception. The venue also welcomes rehearsal dinners and other pre-wedding gatherings, with all-day rental options and wedding packages available.

For corporate and social occasions, the spaces can be set up for seated dinners, cocktail receptions, meetings, retreats, fundraisers, performances and community events. The venue lists capacity for approximately 40 to 225 guests, depending on the event and layout, and offers AV equipment, flexible seating and bar service. The balcony adds another distinctive area, while the building's central location offers convenient access to downtown Rochester.

Full-service catering for weddings and other suitable bookings is provided through the venue's exclusive partner, Partyman Catering. Organisers can discuss menus, bar packages, event layouts, vendor arrangements and other practical details with the venue team. Tours are available by appointment, with a virtual tour offered for those who cannot visit in person. The venue is accessible and can work with organisers to shape the space around the needs of their event.
