Ellis Barn

Ellis Barn is a historic, two-level venue at Springfield Oaks County Park in Davisburg, Michigan. Dating from 1884, the barn offers a distinctive rural setting for weddings and other celebrations, with its original agricultural character providing a memorable backdrop for gatherings. Couples and organisers hire the space as a do-it-yourself venue, choosing and arranging their own caterers, DJs, decorations and other suppliers.

The barn's two levels offer different reception layouts. The lower floor can accommodate up to 150 guests with round tables or 130 with rectangular tables, while the upper floor can host up to 250. There is room for a dance floor and bar area, and the building has an internal stairway and a lift for guests who need help moving between floors. Outdoor ramps also provide access to the upper level, though assistance may be needed.

The venue is available for seasonal rentals from May through mid-October, as the barn is not heated. Weekend hire includes time for set-up or rehearsal on Friday, the event day on Saturday and clear-up on Sunday. A heated and air-conditioned restroom trailer is next to the barn, with an accessible restroom elsewhere in the park. Tables and chairs can be rented separately. Organisers should plan to bring in food from an outside source, as cooking and heating are not permitted inside the barn.
