The Maddermarket Theatre

The Maddermarket Theatre is a historic performance venue in central Norwich, with spaces available to hire for organisers seeking a characterful setting for live events. Its main auditorium seats around 300, while the Emmerson Studio offers a smaller, more intimate alternative. The theatre also makes its bar space available for hire, giving organisers another option for gatherings, meetings and social functions.

The venue's programme includes drama, musicals, concerts, recitals, comedy, talks and performances by visiting companies, alongside productions from its resident company, The Norwich Players. This range makes the theatre suitable for organisers planning performances and cultural events, as well as for groups looking for an established stage and audience facilities. Its theatre setting, with a stage and fixed auditorium, is particularly suited to presentations, shows and audience-based events.

Located in Norwich's city centre, the building has a distinctive historic character and an intimate atmosphere. The theatre can also be approached about hiring its auditorium or bar, and provides costumes for hire. Its spaces and facilities offer local groups, performers and event planners a central venue for bringing audiences together. The organisation's community focus and ongoing programme of live performances make it a longstanding part of Norwich's arts scene, while its bookable spaces provide a practical option for external events as well as in-house productions.
