Colstoun

Colstoun is a private country estate near Haddington in East Lothian, offering a historic setting for weddings, corporate events and smaller private gatherings. Its combination of parkland, a walled garden and characterful buildings gives organisers a choice of settings for different parts of an event, from an outdoor ceremony to dinner and dancing indoors.

The Coach House is the estate's main event space, suited to dinners and gatherings of around 20 to 150 guests. It can host wedding receptions, celebrations, wakes, rural conferences and seasonal parties. The space has a kitchen and preparation area for catering teams, so organisers can work with an approved caterer or discuss bringing in their own. The estate also offers different ceremony locations, including the garden and grounds, with options for both intimate occasions and larger weddings.

For business events, Colstoun welcomes meetings, strategy sessions, corporate retreats, product launches and client gatherings. Organisers can ask about tailored group activities, such as whisky tastings or Highland Games, alongside their event programme. The private rural setting offers a change of pace for teams, while remaining within reach of Edinburgh.

Smaller bookings can include family celebrations, birthdays, retirements and bespoke gatherings. Depending on the event, organisers can discuss food arrangements and other details with the estate team. On-site cottages are available for guests as part of some exclusive-use bookings, providing accommodation for family or an event party. Colstoun's spaces and services can be discussed directly with the team to plan an event around the occasion, guest numbers and preferred setting.
