Gosford House

Gosford House is an exclusive-use historic venue in East Lothian, set within extensive estate grounds near Edinburgh. The neo-classical mansion offers a distinctive setting for wedding ceremonies and receptions, corporate hospitality, gala dinners, product launches, incentive events and private celebrations. Organisers can hire the house for an event with a sense of occasion, while making use of its varied rooms and outdoor spaces.

Inside, the Marble Hall, gallery, billiard room, Octagon Room, dining room and Saloon provide different settings for receptions, dining and evening celebrations. The Marble Hall can host a standing drinks reception, while the dining spaces suit a range of seated layouts. For larger events, marquees can be arranged on the lawns, with glass and traditional styles available. The house and grounds are offered together, rather than the lawns being hired on their own.

The venue also welcomes weddings, with options for ceremonies indoors or outdoors and exclusive use of the house. Its rooms can accommodate both smaller gatherings and larger receptions, with a marquee option for weddings with more than 150 guests. Gosford House's team provides support and guidance to help couples plan their venue hire.

For business organisers, the setting can work for formal dinners as well as more informal events, including outdoor gatherings. The house can welcome receptions of up to 300 guests, while larger marquee dinners may accommodate up to 600. Gosford House is also available for filming and photography projects, with varied interiors and grounds to consider. Event planners can contact the venue team to discuss availability, capacity and arrangements for their occasion.
