Our Samana core group of 110 members thoroughly enjoyed the musical quiz. All kinds of music were featured, and Geert delivered it fantastically. A good live band turns any party or event upside down. What kind of band would you like to book for your business event or party? A top act that will rock your festival? Hiring a band? You need to know this
How long a live band plays on average depends, of course, from band to band and what is needed at your event. A standard performance often consists of two or three sets of 45 minutes. If you want music for a longer period of time, it is best to use a second act or, for example, a DJ. Also keep in mind that live musicians plan a break to rest for a while. In that time slot, they can play music through the sound system, or you can provide a different interpretation. A tip: do you want to schedule speeches at a wedding, for example? Then schedule these pieces before the dance party starts. Suppose your guests are in total party mood and are all dancing on the dance floor to the music played by the live band that you have hired, and you are going to interrupt this flow with a speech from your mother-in-law or father-in-law? Then it will be very difficult to get back that atmosphere on the dance floor. If you have other wishes regarding playing time, please contact the live band or their management, they will be happy to assist you.
There are still practical matters that you should discuss in advance with your party or event location if you hire a live band to give a performance. This is especially important when a lot of equipment is involved. Is the location accessible for loading and unloading? Will the party take place on the ground floor, first floor, etc.? Are there goods lifts available or does the material have to go up the stairs? Also check if your party venue has a sound limit if you are renting a band.
Hiring a live band for a party also means building up equipment. Provide the necessary time for the build-up in your planning. For smaller groups, this takes less than an hour, for larger groups you should count at least 1.5 hours or more. If a solo artist comes to your performance, this will go faster.
