On 1 December 2021 we were finally able to hold our hybrid science-policy Forum. We initially began planning this event for April 2020 but due to COVID the event had to be rescheduled twice. Throughout the whole process, the BluePoint team have been flexible in accommodating changing requirements and allowed us to reschedule as needed. For the event that did eventually take place, they were very helpful in answering all of our questions promptly. We were able to do dry runs at the venue with the technical team and they did everything they could to help us ensure the event ran smoothly. Hosting a hybrid event meant that the event was logistically and technically complex but the team never once told us something was not possible. The day itself ran extremely smoothly and the team did all they could to ensure that it did without adding to our own inevitable event stress. The facilities available at BluePoint are excellent and this ensured that our attendees could have a high quality experience whether they were in the room or online. The excellent catering was a bonus. The venue is a bit outside the centre of Brussels but easily reachable by public transport and with a large underground car park. My husband's great wish came true when we surprised him with the news that he would be going on a trip in the Willy's jeep he loved so much, which he would also be able to drive himself (for the first time in his life). . The so-called Warbird route and everything that Philippe told and showed us with such enthusiasm and knowledge, brought us back in time and made us experience the war stories a bit. Very instructive and very educational, even for our already grown children. The four of us seated in the Willy's jeep and driving through the fields and mud, we also felt a piece of the history of this special car. Philippe really took all the time for us and was able to tell and explain a lot about how everything happened at the time. What research he has done! As soon as you enter Philippe's gate, you feel warmly welcomed, you really go back in time and he takes you to a piece of history that should never be forgotten. His passion for history and the respect and knowledge of his jeeps make this formula a complete experience. We had a day we will never forget and my husband has already promised to come back, because this day definitely left us wanting more! Thank you Philippe for this nice memory.
