Why is it a good idea for an event manager to take an event technology workshop?
I grew up with technology. I started as a sound engineer. Then I spent about 25 years producing events. So I know a little about what it entails. And I learned that along the way.
In "my day," there was no training for it. You did it by instinct, with common sense and common sense. And above all, lots of questions.
There are many HBO programs in Event Management (or similar fields). That's fantastic. I'm an event technology instructor myself at www.eventacademy.nl, and I sometimes ask (even to event managers I meet) how much time and attention is devoted to technology in the program.
The answer is usually…zero.
Isn't that crazy? Because every event needs technology. And if you're not careful, it can easily take up 20-30% or more of your budget.
Wouldn't it be nice to know a little more about it? Or better yet, get a feel for it?
That's exactly what we do at the Event Technology Workshop. January 28th and 29th, 2026, at www.luxonos.nl in Almere.
