The 51st Local Sports Policy Congress in Bilzen-Hoeselt was the largest sports congress Flanders has ever seen. A thousand sports professionals, for two days, spread across multiple exhibition halls.

The question

The organization needed a reliable network for the exhibitors in one of the exhibition halls. Think of live demos, presentations, payment systems, and registration software — all dependent on a stable connection. And this for hundreds of users simultaneously, in a hall where fixed internet was not provided.

What we have done

Astro Rent installed a complete temporary network in the exhibition hall. We worked with a combination of wired connection points and Wi-Fi coverage across the entire area. The network was operational before the setup began and was dismantled again afterwards.

During the congress, our team was on standby for monitoring and any necessary adjustments.

The result

190 simultaneous connections at peak times. 150 gigabytes of data traffic over two days. No outages.

Exhibitors could simply work without having to think about connectivity. That is ultimately the goal of what we do: if things go well, you don't notice it at all.

Conferences and trade fairs are exactly the type of event where temporary networks make the difference. Many users simultaneously, short setup time, and everything must work immediately. No second chance.
