Put your team in the Cake Factory and see what happens

What are we doing for our team-building this year?

You know how it is. The question comes up at a team meeting, everyone looks your way, and before you know it, you’re the organiser. It has to be fun. Everyone has to take part, including the colleague who’d rather stand in the corner. It definitely can’t be the same as last year. And afterwards, everyone has to say: that was good.

At Moodmaker, we hear that question every day. So we asked ourselves two questions. What makes a team-building activity a good one? And what makes a game a good game?

After more than twenty years, we know the answer to the first: everyone joins in, there’s plenty of laughter, and something stays with you that you’re still talking about at the coffee machine the next day. We found the answer to the second with game designers: a clear goal, real choices, excitement, and always a chance to come back.

Put the two together, and you get Cake Factory. Perhaps the most dynamic and most fun team-building activity in Belgium.

What exactly happens? We’d rather not give that away. Here’s what we can tell you: your team runs its own cake factory. The music is loud, the clock is ticking, and there are colleagues in aprons whom you’ve never seen so focused. The first round is delicious chaos. Then something wonderful happens: the team gets smarter with every round. And anyone who thinks the prize is already in the bag had better take another look at the screen.

The best part comes afterwards. That’s when everyone recognises their own workplace with a smile: the meeting where everyone talks over one another, the choice between fast and good, that colleague who suddenly takes the lead.

Cake Factory is an indoor team-building activity for groups of 10 to 120 people, at your office or at a venue of your choice.

So: what are you doing for your team-building this year? We already have an idea.
