Create Centre

Create Centre is a distinctive meeting and event venue in Bristol’s Spike Island district, set within a former warehouse near the harbourside. Managed by Bristol City Council, the centre combines practical event facilities with a strong focus on sustainability, education and social impact.

The venue offers meeting rooms for groups of around 10 to 30 people, making it suitable for workshops, training sessions, team meetings, seminars and smaller conferences. Each room has installed audiovisual equipment and internet access, while hybrid meeting equipment is available for an additional charge. For larger presentations, talks and training courses, the ground-floor lecture theatre seats up to 70 guests and includes Wi-Fi, a sound system, projector and fixed hearing loop. Its adjoining foyer can be used for buffets and refreshments.

Create Centre also provides a flexible gallery space for exhibitions, receptions and other event formats. The open-plan room measures approximately 12 by 8 metres and can be divided into smaller zones with movable partitions. For informal group work, wellbeing sessions and away days, organisers can enquire about hiring the purpose-built Ecohome, which demonstrates sustainable building methods and environmental ideas.

Event organisers can arrange catering and refreshments through the venue’s hospitality partner, while the on-site café serves drinks, snacks and light lunches during weekday opening hours. Public areas are fully accessible, and the venue offers community rates for local and charitable organisations. Create’s environmental focus is reflected in its sustainable event impact portal, which helps clients estimate and track the carbon footprint of their meetings and events.
