Blackerby Violin Shop

Blackerby Violin Shop offers an intimate performance hall and teaching studios at its North Austin location, available to book by the hour. The hall is suited to solo performers and small ensembles, as well as rehearsals, group classes, professional recordings and live events. Its capacity is around 75 to 90 guests, making it a practical choice for a recital, acoustic concert, open-mic session, spoken-word performance or a small community gathering.

The room is designed especially for acoustic music, with a baby grand piano on stage. Guitars, piano, singer-songwriters and small orchestral groups are among the kinds of performances that suit the space. Audio and video recording can also be arranged for bookings, useful for documenting a performance or creating audition material.

Alongside the hall, the site has three teaching studios available for one-to-one sessions and other small-scale activities. Guests can use the studio house for refreshments during a hall booking, and a kitchen refrigerator is available. Refreshments are not permitted inside the performance hall itself. The venue provides parking for hall and studio visitors, and bookings need to be requested in advance. The spaces are open to a range of clients, so organisers do not need to be musicians to enquire about hiring them. This is a focused, compact venue for events where an intimate setting and live performance are central.
