Historic Huffaker School

Historic Huffaker School offers event organisers a distinctive small venue within Bartley Ranch Regional Park in Reno. Set in a restored historic schoolhouse, it is suited to intimate celebrations, ceremonies, meetings and other private gatherings. Its traditional character, steeple and landscaped approach provide a memorable setting, while the surrounding park adds a scenic backdrop for photographs and time outdoors.

The building accommodates up to 60 guests. The interior has hardwood floors, lighting and air conditioning, and the facility includes a restroom. Around ten folding tables and 60 folding chairs are available, making it practical for a range of seating and gathering layouts. Organisers should plan to bring any additional items they need, as linens, Wi-Fi and audio-visual equipment are not provided. The venue also has no refrigerator, microwave or sink.

Reservations are available for daytime and evening use, with later hours offered on Fridays and Saturdays. Booking is handled through Washoe County’s Parks Reservations team, and reservations must be made at least 30 days ahead. Hire time needs to include both set-up and clear-up, and additional staffing fees may apply for events continuing after 5pm. Rules cover amplified sound, decorations, open flames and other event details, so organisers should check the facility guidance while planning. The schoolhouse can also be booked alongside the nearby Huffaker Picnic Pavilion, providing an option to combine indoor space with an outdoor gathering area.
