The Palmetto Room

The Palmetto Room is a private event venue on the third floor of the Bailey Building, overlooking the historic square in downtown Laurens, South Carolina. Its main room offers 3,750 square feet for weddings, receptions and other private or corporate gatherings. The venue can accommodate up to 250 guests, with tables and chairs provided and set out for events of up to 200 seated guests.

Couples have access to a separate bridal suite with a private bathroom, space to get ready and a comfortable area for the wedding party. The venue’s location also provides photo opportunities around the building and nearby historic streets. For caterers, a dedicated kitchen includes a refrigerator, ice maker, sink, work surface and heated holding cabinet, giving organisers flexibility to choose their own food provider.

The open room can be used for dining, dancing and live entertainment. A dedicated electrical panel for bands, along with additional circuits and outlets, supports event production needs. The venue is rented in time-based packages, with rates varying by day and booking period. Organisers can ask about weekday arrangements and arrange a private tour to discuss their plans.

Guests and suppliers can access the third floor by stairs at the front entrance or use the rear entrance and lift. There is some private parking behind the building, with public parking lots nearby. Alcohol is considered on an event-by-event basis and, when permitted, must be served by an insured, licensed bartender. The Palmetto Room provides a distinctive downtown setting for celebrations, while allowing organisers to bring in their chosen catering and other event suppliers.
