The Barrel House

The Barrel House is a distinctive venue for weddings, private celebrations and business gatherings in downtown Chambersburg. Set inside a restored early twentieth-century railway building, it pairs industrial character and high ceilings with flexible spaces for ceremonies, receptions, meetings and social events. The first floor can host up to 120 guests, while the venue’s outdoor patio and upper terrace offer additional options for guests to gather and enjoy the setting.

Couples can hold an outdoor ceremony and move indoors for their reception, with a bridal suite available upstairs for getting ready. The venue also welcomes occasions such as birthdays, showers, retirement celebrations and graduations, as well as corporate events and meetings. For business gatherings, it provides audiovisual facilities and space for groups of more than 80 people.

An on-site bar serves drinks, and the kitchen prepares food for events. Organisers may also arrange their own caterer, subject to the venue’s approval. This gives hosts a choice between using the venue’s food service and bringing in an outside provider. Indoor space and a heated patio help keep plans flexible in different weather.

The second and third floors contain loft-style overnight accommodation for up to eight guests, including a bridal suite with a king bed and spa bathroom. This can be useful for the wedding party or guests travelling from out of town.
