The Guru

The Guru is a hireable event venue in Baton Rouge, Louisiana, offering a welcoming setting for private celebrations, business gatherings and community events. Based in the Circa 1857 complex, the venue occupies a former 1920s mechanics garage, with a warehouse-style interior, high ceilings and large garage doors. The decor and relaxed atmosphere give organisers a distinctive alternative to a conventional function room, while covered outdoor seating provides another area for guests to gather.

The space can be booked for intimate weddings and receptions, showers, birthdays, anniversaries, retirement parties, graduations and celebrations of life. It also welcomes company meetings, workshops, retreats, fundraisers, client appreciation events, luncheons, dinners, photo shoots, recitals and art shows. Organisers can enquire about daytime or evening hire, with rates available for weekdays and weekends. An onsite manager is included, and room set-ups can be arranged to suit the occasion.

The Guru can also coordinate additional services such as catering, party planning, decor and bartending, priced according to the requirements of each booking. Organisers can discuss their preferred arrangements and event format directly with the venue. Its inclusive approach and adaptable space make it suitable for both personal milestones and professional gatherings, particularly when a smaller event calls for an individual setting with character. The venue is in central Baton Rouge, within the Circa 1857 complex on Government Street.
