Phyllis Wheatley Heritage Center

The Phyllis Wheatley Heritage Center offers a distinctive St. Louis setting for weddings, receptions, galas, fundraisers, concerts, conferences, business meetings and community gatherings. At its heart is a ballroom in a historic building with a meaningful connection to the Phyllis Wheatley Branch of the YWCA, founded in 1911. A permanent exhibit shares the story of the centre and its namesake, bringing an added sense of history to events held here.

The ballroom can seat up to 220 guests at tables or 250 in a theatre-style layout. The venue provides round tables and chairs, with rectangular and cocktail tables available on request. A spacious lobby, green room or hospitality suite, coat-check rack and accessible entrance support guest arrivals and event-day arrangements. For presentations and entertainment, the room has a house sound system, handheld microphones, large display screens and Wi-Fi. A commercial preparation kitchen is also available for food service.

Organisers can work with the centre's preferred caterers, with options to suit different menus and dietary needs. The venue has an on-site event manager, offers planning assistance and provides security for events. Table and chair set-up and takedown are included according to the organiser's floor plan. Situated on Locust Street near Midtown, the centre is convenient to Union Station and other central St. Louis destinations.
