Viva Arts and Community Group

The Viva Theatre is a performing arts and community venue housed in the restored Spencer Mill in Soham. The former mill has been adapted into a flexible setting for live performance and other gatherings, bringing together the character of a historic industrial building and facilities for contemporary use.

Event organisers can enquire about hiring the main auditorium, rehearsal area and upstairs events space. These spaces make the venue suitable for performances, rehearsals, community activities and a range of meetings or private gatherings. The building also includes a foyer, gallery, bar and cafe, alongside dressing rooms and backstage areas. Organisers can discuss which spaces are appropriate for their plans and what arrangements may be available for a particular booking.

The theatre is run by Viva Arts and Community Group, a local arts and community organisation. Alongside its own programme of theatre, film and cultural activities, the venue provides a permanent home for the group and facilities that can be hired by others. The converted mill retains elements of its original character, giving events a distinctive setting in Soham.

For planners considering a venue in East Cambridgeshire, The Viva Theatre offers purpose-built performance facilities as well as additional rooms for supporting activities. Contact the team to ask about availability, room hire and the practical details of hosting an event at Spencer Mill.
