Literaturhaus e.V.

Schwanenwik 38, 22087 Hamburg, Germany

Literaturhaus Hamburg combines a literary cultural programme with rooms that event planners can enquire about for their own events. The historic villa on Schwanenwik is right by the Außenalster and offers a variety of settings for small work meetings as well as presentations, readings and celebrations. Step-free access makes it easier for guests to visit.

The Gartenzimmer and Westflügel on the second floor are available for meetings, workshops and presentations. The 28-square-metre Gartenzimmer is set up for eight people at a work table. The Westflügel covers 33 square metres and has room for ten people to work, or up to 20 guests seated in rows. Both rooms can also be used for readings. Enquiries for these rooms are handled by Literaturhaus e.V.

For larger festive occasions, the venue offers a restored, listed hall with historic details such as chandeliers, marble columns and stucco. The adjoining Lesezimmer and Lesbar can complement a reception or buffet. On the Beletage, three salons with natural light and views of the Außenalster are available. They can be used for private or business celebrations and arranged as desired. A small wedding ceremony is also possible. The Literaturhauscafé handles the hire of the hall and the Beletage, which it shares with the association.

As well as hiring out its rooms, the association shapes the venue through regular literary events for adults and children. Anyone planning a meeting, workshop or celebration will find rooms with distinctive historic character and a special location in Hamburg. When planning, it is important to direct your enquiry to the relevant contact for the room you want.
