Derby LIVE

Derby LIVE makes Market Place available to organisers looking for an outdoor setting in the centre of Derby. This public square can host a range of activities, from specialist markets, arts and crafts fairs and funfairs to promotional stands and larger public celebrations. Organisers can hire the space as a whole or enquire about smaller sections, depending on the plans and scale of their event.

Set in Derby's Cathedral Quarter, Market Place is close to the Guildhall Theatre, QUAD, shops, bars and restaurants. Its city-centre position and transport links make it a practical option for events seeking passing footfall as well as a prominent place for visitors to meet. The square has hosted city celebrations and seasonal activities, and its open-air layout offers scope for different types of public gathering.

Derby LIVE's Space Hire team handles enquiries about availability and site requirements. It can advise on suitable locations, arrange site visits and help coordinate practical matters such as permissions, vehicle access and electricity connections where available. Specific facilities and arrangements depend on the area hired and the proposed activity, so organisers should discuss their requirements with the team before booking. Market Place is a useful option for organisers planning an outdoor event, market or promotion in a well-connected central location.
