Down Under

Down Under is an indoor event space in the James R. Connor University Center at the University of Wisconsin-Whitewater. With a performance stage and surrounding tables and chairs, it offers a setting for live entertainment, presentations and other gatherings. The room is listed with a capacity of up to 252 people, making it a useful option for organisers seeking a campus venue in Whitewater.

The University Center’s room reservation service accepts requests for its spaces from recognised student organisations, university departments, private groups and corporate entities. Organisers can contact Building Operations to ask about availability, room arrangements and technical requirements. Projectors, microphones and other audio-visual needs can be discussed as part of the booking process. Rental and staffing charges may apply, depending on the event and the organiser, while university activities and student groups receive scheduling priority.

Down Under is also used for UW-Whitewater’s own entertainment programme. UC Live presents activities such as concerts, comedy, magic, bingo and trivia in the University Center, with events aimed principally at the campus community. The room’s stage and seating suit performances and informal audience gatherings, while the wider reservation process provides a route for external organisers to enquire about using University Center facilities. Requests are subject to the university’s policies and approval, so organisers should confirm eligibility, costs and arrangements with Building Operations before making plans.
