The Historic Herring House

The Historic Herring House is a private event venue in Clinton, North Carolina, set in a 1916 Southern Colonial home. Its historic character gives gatherings a distinctive setting, with original wood floors, period details, a grand staircase, leaded glass and a wrap-around porch. Event planners can arrange celebrations across the house and its outdoor grounds, choosing spaces to suit the occasion and guest list.

For weddings, the property offers the house, a large gazebo and an open lawn, with a pine grove ceremony area also featured in its venue information. Wedding options range from a shorter elopement booking to packages that include use of several spaces, a bridal suite, rehearsal time, tables and chairs. Couples can also enquire about a photography session on the grounds and additional tent or pew hire. The venue is also suited to showers, birthdays, anniversaries and fundraisers, with indoor and outdoor options. Business meetings can be booked during the week, while the grounds and interiors are available for photography sessions.

The setting offers a mix of formal rooms and relaxed outdoor spaces, allowing organisers to shape the atmosphere around their event. Furniture and tables and chairs are available for certain bookings, and organisers may bring in their own caterer or refreshments. Catering is not provided by the venue, so planners can choose a suitable supplier separately. The house is available to view by appointment, giving event planners an opportunity to discuss the occasion, explore the spaces and consider which rental option fits their plans.
