Scovill Garden House

Set beside Lake Decatur in Scovill Park, Scovill Garden House offers a small, welcoming setting for organisers planning gatherings in Decatur, Illinois. The house was formerly the summer home of Guy and Rose Scovill, giving the venue a distinctive historic character and a peaceful outlook over the water.

With seating for up to 40 guests, it is suited to more intimate occasions rather than large receptions. The venue is presented as a choice for showers, reunions and corporate retreats, making it useful for both personal celebrations and smaller work gatherings. Its setting can lend a relaxed feel to a daytime event, a family get-together or a quiet retreat away from the office.

Facilities include a preparation kitchen and a restroom, helping organisers make practical arrangements for their guests and event set-up. The kitchen is intended for preparation, so planners should check directly with the venue about catering options and any requirements for food service. The modest capacity also makes it easier to plan a gathering where guests can spend time together in a more personal space.

Scovill Garden House is part of the Decatur Park District's venue offering. Organisers can contact the District to ask about availability, hire arrangements and the details needed to plan their event. Its combination of a lakeside view, historic setting and compact indoor space makes it a practical option for smaller gatherings in the Decatur area.
