Freilichtbühne Gräfenhainichen offers event organisers a distinctive setting for events under the open sky. It is situated within the walls of the historic castle ruins near Vorstadtteich. Parts of the former castle and palace complex have survived, giving the venue a distinctly historic character that sets it apart from an ordinary event space.

The city lists its capacity as around 300 people. The site is particularly suitable for cultural events and outdoor celebrations. Private celebrations can also be requested. Existing seating, such as benches and loungers, is available for use. There is no kitchen on site, so event organisers should arrange catering and any additional equipment themselves.

A range of cultural events take place on the stage. Examples include an annual singalong and a film night. This makes the venue a fitting setting for open-air events, smaller stage programmes and community celebrations in historic surroundings. The city will provide information about prices and availability on request. Use of the venue must be agreed in advance, and there is no entitlement to its use. Outside event times, access is only possible by prior arrangement. Event organisers can contact the relevant department of the city of Gräfenhainichen about private celebrations and hire enquiries.
