The Southerly House

The Southerly House is a countryside venue for weddings and other celebrations in the Dothan area of south-east Alabama. Set among more than 60 acres of rural surroundings, the property brings together landscaped gardens, a renovated house and a newer, versatile event building. The mix of outdoor scenery and indoor space gives organisers options for ceremonies, receptions and gatherings in different styles and seasons.

Weddings are a central offering, with space for ceremonies in the gardens, receptions indoors, or a combination of both. The venue also welcomes engagement parties, family reunions, birthday and seasonal celebrations, corporate gatherings and other special occasions. Its newer building has high ceilings and natural light, providing a flexible backdrop that can be styled to suit the event.

For wedding parties, dedicated bridal and groom suites provide separate places to prepare and spend time with their guests before the celebration. The venue also has a collection of décor pieces, including vases, mirrors, candle holders and floral accessories, which can help organisers shape the look of the room. The team describes its offering as including all-inclusive package options and staff support, and encourages prospective clients to arrange a tour and discuss availability directly.

Located at 1609 Co Rd 74, The Southerly House serves couples, families and event organisers seeking a private venue with a country setting near Dothan. Its combination of gardens, indoor event space and preparation suites makes it suitable for both wedding days and a range of social or business events.
