The Gathering Place

The Gathering Place is a family-run wedding and event venue on working farmland in Monticello, Illinois. Its modern barn-style building offers around 6,000 square feet of flexible space, with an open main floor, a great room, kitchen and bar area, a breakout space and a covered outdoor patio. The venue is climate controlled, and a stone fireplace adds a welcoming feature to the main room.

Set beside a large pond, the property provides a scenic setting for outdoor wedding ceremonies, photographs and receptions. Indoor and outdoor areas can be used together for events of up to 200 guests, while smaller groups can be arranged to feel comfortable in the space. The venue also offers overnight accommodation on site, subject to availability and approval.

Wedding packages can cover a ceremony, a reception or both at the same location. The Gathering Place also hosts birthday and graduation parties, showers, family reunions, anniversaries, company meetings and retreats, workshops, fundraisers and celebrations of life. Organisers can make use of tables and chairs for up to 100 guests, audiovisual equipment, Wi-Fi, kitchen access and the venue's event support. Hosts may bring their own food or choose a caterer, and the venue does not require a food or drink minimum for its events.
