Gilmerton House

Gilmerton House is an exclusive-use Georgian estate in East Lothian, offering a private setting for weddings, celebrations, corporate retreats and other group gatherings. Set within landscaped grounds and countryside near North Berwick, the house combines historic character with a choice of indoor and outdoor spaces for different parts of an event.

For ceremonies and receptions, organisers can consider the oak-panelled Music Room, the restored Laundry House, the house's reception rooms or settings in the gardens. The grounds also have designated areas for outdoor ceremonies and marquee events. The Music Room suits smaller ceremonies and seated meals, while the Laundry House and marquee options provide space for larger celebrations. The venue's wedding offering includes exclusive use and a minimum three-night stay, with accommodation for up to 24 resident guests across the main house and Gardener's Cottage.

Beyond weddings, Gilmerton House welcomes private celebrations, corporate retreats, golf groups and production crews. Its accommodation and shared spaces allow groups to gather over several days, with activities such as archery, clay pigeon shooting, falconry, whisky tastings and woodland walks available to help shape a stay. The estate also offers indoor and outdoor locations for photography and filming.

Food and drink for weddings and events are provided by the venue's exclusive catering partner, The Edinburgh Catering Company. Organisers can enquire directly with the Gilmerton House team to discuss the occasion, spaces, accommodation and arrangements. The result is a bookable heritage venue where the house, gardens and overnight stay form part of the event setting.
