Festival Plaza & Starkey Building

Festival Plaza and the Starkey Building are City of Lafayette facilities in Old Town Lafayette, Colorado, offering different options for gatherings and events. The Starkey Building is the bookable indoor space for private individuals and organisations. It suits small meetings, workshops, receptions, parties and other functions, with a maximum capacity of 40 people. Tables and chairs are provided, and the building also has a sink, restrooms, parking and bike racks. Its location beside Festival Plaza gives organisers a central Old Town setting for a compact gathering.

Festival Plaza is an outdoor public gathering place with lawn space, picnic areas, a performance area, public art and a seasonal splash pad. It hosts community programming, including concerts and cultural events. The plaza is not available for private events. Organisers seeking to hold a public event there must apply for a City of Lafayette community event permit, with applications handled by the City Clerk. This distinction helps planners choose the right facility: book the Starkey Building for private indoor functions, or explore the plaza permit process for an event open to the public.

The Starkey Building is available by reservation, with rental information and use guidelines provided by the city. Its modest capacity and practical facilities make it suitable for smaller-scale occasions rather than large conferences or banquets. Event planners can contact the facility team to check availability, confirm current rental requirements and discuss the arrangements for their intended use.
