Humanist Hall

Humanist Hall is a community-focused venue in Oakland, California, available to rent for gatherings, meetings, forums, classes, trainings, rallies, concerts, performances, banquets and celebrations. The hall is operated by The Fellowship of Humanity, which makes the space available to local groups and organisers, with particular encouragement for progressive and underserved communities.

Set in a 1935 building, the venue offers nearly 2,000 square feet of indoor hardwood floor space. The main hall can accommodate up to 160 people seated or 255 standing, and includes a stage measuring approximately 230 square feet. The rental also includes access to a dining room, kitchen, green room and outdoor yard beneath oak trees. A wheelchair-accessible ramp is available. Tables and folding chairs are provided, giving organisers useful basics for arranging their gathering.

Humanist Hall is a do-it-yourself venue, so event organisers are responsible for setting up the space for their event. Bookings are made by the day rather than by the hour, and the rental team considers factors such as the proposed attendance, day and length of the booking, event activities and the event's public service value. This flexible community hall can suit organisations seeking a practical setting for talks, workshops, performances, celebrations and other local events. Organisers can contact the venue directly to discuss availability, rental terms and the needs of their event.
