Pauley Ballroom

Pauley Ballroom is a large, adaptable event venue on the UC Berkeley campus in Berkeley, California. Its distinctive interior features warm oak panelling, a 30-foot ceiling and floor-to-ceiling windows looking towards Sather Gate and the Campanile. At 9,072 square feet, the ballroom can host large gatherings, while its East and West sections can be booked separately for smaller events or breakout sessions.

The room can be arranged for receptions, lectures, classroom-style meetings and banquets. The full ballroom has capacity for up to 900 guests for receptions or lectures, with banquet seating for up to 560. Smaller adjacent spaces, including Kerr Lobby, provide options for a more compact gathering or an accompanying reception area. A patio is also available with West Pauley.

The venue is suited to conferences, talks, celebrations, films and other organised events. Available equipment includes a built-in projector, lapel and wireless microphones, a podium, presentation remote, whiteboard, pipe and drape, tables and chairs. Organisers can work through event requirements with an Event Coordinator, and the rental includes a planning meeting and room layout diagrams. Reservations need to be requested at least 21 days in advance to allow time for staffing, catering and logistical arrangements.

Pauley Ballroom is managed by Berkeley Event Services, which offers access to other indoor and outdoor spaces across the campus. The team can also direct organisers to catering options and event planning support, helping them coordinate the practical details alongside the room booking.
