St Alfege Church

St Alfege Church offers a choice of hireable spaces in the heart of Greenwich for organisers planning gatherings of different sizes. The historic church provides a distinctive setting for concerts, recitals, exhibitions, lectures, filming and other events. Its ground floor is wheelchair accessible, and the church can seat up to 350 people, with extra gallery seating available. Staging and selected musical instruments may also be available by arrangement, making the main church particularly suited to performances and formal occasions.

Across the courtyard, the main church hall is a flexible space for children’s parties, quiz nights, charity fundraisers and group activities. It can accommodate up to 80 people seated or 120 standing, and may be hired with or without the adjoining Frank Smith Room. The smaller hall suits more intimate events, including meetings, book launches, coffee mornings and readings. For board-style meetings, the Caton Room accommodates up to 20 people, while the Frank Smith Room can be booked separately for smaller groups or combined with the main hall.

A separately bookable, equipped kitchen and side room can support events that need food preparation facilities. Hire enquiries are handled by the church office, with organisers asked to provide their preferred space, event purpose, date and times. Hire arrangements should include sufficient time for setting up and clearing away. The church is centrally located in Greenwich, close to public transport links, and offers organisers a range of rooms and a historic venue for community, private and cultural events.
