Turnpike Showground

Turnpike Showground is an outdoor venue near Motcombe, available to event planners looking for open-air space in North Dorset. Its 79 acres are divided across four fields, giving organisers the choice of hiring a broad area for a large gathering or a smaller section suited to a more focused event. The grounds have previously hosted caravan rallies, dog agility camps, car boot sales, equine shows, weddings and the annual Gillingham & Shaftesbury Show.

Organisers can discuss a hire package based on the size and requirements of their event. Facilities and practical support listed for the site include crowd barriers, water standpipes and a large roadside banner frame, subject to availability. The showground also describes event-specific arrangements for access and site use, which can be discussed with its team when planning a booking.

The outdoor setting is suited to events that need room for vehicles, outdoor activities, displays or temporary event infrastructure. Its fields can serve a range of formats, from public shows and rallies to private celebrations and community events. Organisers can enquire about hiring the whole site or a smaller area and outline their plans to establish which arrangement is appropriate. Turnpike Showground provides the location and site facilities, while event planners can shape the programme and bring in any additional services their event requires.
