Het Buurthuis is a municipal hall in Zelk, near Halen, which organisers can book for performances and meetings. The multi-purpose space has an audience area of 210 m² and offers a range of possibilities for putting on a programme for the public. In a seated layout, it can accommodate up to 180 guests. Without a fixed layout, it can host up to 420 people standing.

A permanent stage of 72 m² makes the hall suitable for theatre performances, talks and other activities where speakers or performers appear before an audience. There is also a bar with a draught system, sink and three fridges. The hall has a cloakroom with toilets and two changing rooms, practical facilities for guests and performers. There is no kitchen or fixed lighting and sound system, so organisers can make arrangements for any external technical equipment and catering they may need.

The hall is offered by Stad Halen. Associations wishing to organise a performance or meeting can request the space through the municipal booking platform. The municipal rules of use and practical arrangements for setting up and clearing the hall apply in advance. Youth club De Berg is based in an annex, but the bookable large hall at Het Buurthuis is the venue for activities featured on this business page. With its generous capacity, stage and basic facilities, the hall is a functional space for local public events and meetings in Halen.
