The Other Barn

The Other Barn is a historic former dairy barn in Columbia, Maryland, available to hire for weddings, receptions and a range of social and business gatherings. Its rustic character, timber beams and hardwood floors give the venue a distinctive setting, while its indoor rooms and courtyard offer organisers a choice of spaces for different parts of an event.

The Loft is the main reception space and can accommodate up to 175 people. The flower-filled Courtyard can be used for an outdoor wedding ceremony when hired alongside the Loft, while the Smithy/Tack Room provides a smaller option for meetings and intimate gatherings, with seating for up to 65. On Fridays, Saturdays and Sundays, the venue welcomes weddings and larger celebrations. Smaller gatherings, rehearsal dinners and business meetings can be arranged on weekdays.

The venue provides tables and chairs, with its staff arranging and clearing them according to a floor plan agreed with the rental coordinator. A commercial kitchen is available for use by a chosen licensed caterer. Organisers can select their own suppliers, so catering, decorations and other event details can be planned to suit their preferences. The venue does not provide catering.

Facilities include a bridal preparation room, a projector screen in the Loft, accessible features and free parking. A staff member remains on site during the event to assist with venue-related questions. With its flexible rooms, outdoor ceremony option and support through the booking process, The Other Barn offers a welcoming local setting for weddings, family occasions, milestone celebrations and selected business events.
