Sherrill's Inn

Sherrill's Inn is a historic property in Fairview, near Asheville, offering its grounds and house as a setting for weddings and other special events. Its outdoor spaces give event planners several options for ceremonies, receptions and gatherings, with lawns framed by mature trees, clipped boxwoods, gardens and mountain scenery. The different areas can help organisers shape the flow of the day, from a ceremony to drinks, photographs and an outdoor reception.

The grounds include a ceremony field with a natural stage area, a boxwood yard, a back yard and a larger reception field with a bandstand. The covered porch provides another place for guests to gather, while the historic house has two rooms and a library available for wedding parties to get ready. Overnight accommodation is not offered at the inn, so organisers should arrange lodging separately for guests who need it.

Photographs can be taken across the property, including among the boxwoods, grapevine tunnels, gardens and orchard, with views of the surrounding mountains. The reception area has portable toilets and hand-washing facilities, with upgraded restroom options available. The venue recommends local suppliers for catering, rentals, flowers, photography, music, planning and transport, giving organisers a starting point when assembling their own event team. Visits are by appointment, and prospective organisers can contact the venue to discuss the spaces and request a booking contract. With its historic character and range of outdoor locations, Sherrill's Inn offers a distinctive backdrop for couples and event planners seeking a countryside celebration.
