Lutheran Lakeside Camp & Retreat Center

Set on the shores of East Lake Okoboji in Spirit Lake, Iowa, Lutheran Lakeside Camp & Retreat Center offers a scenic setting for weddings, celebrations and community gatherings. Its grounds bring together a lakeside lawn, woodland and water views, and indoor event spaces, giving organisers options for events in different seasons and weather.

The Event Center includes a Dining Hall with a kitchen, which seats up to 200, as well as a lower-level room for smaller gatherings, a rehearsal dinner or a ready room. Outdoors, couples and organisers can choose from the Great Lawn, a waterside campfire area and other locations across the property. Indoor and outdoor spaces can be combined, and the venue provides tables, chairs, parking and selected event equipment. Optional on-site lodging lets wedding parties and guests stay close to the celebration.

Weddings are offered as a dedicated weekend booking, while birthday parties, anniversaries, retirement gatherings, family reunions and community events can reserve a room for the time they need. The venue does not require organisers to use a particular caterer, photographer, florist or other supplier, so planners can assemble a team that suits their event. The rental is largely self-service, with guests responsible for setting up and clearing away their event materials.

Lutheran Lakeside also welcomes local organisations, schools, nonprofits and community groups. Its waterfront location, flexible indoor and outdoor spaces and nearby accommodation make it suitable for both one-day occasions and gatherings planned across a weekend.
