Wonderlust Acres

Wonderlust Acres is a mountain event venue in Purlear, North Carolina, set among the scenery of the Blue Ridge Mountains. Its historic farm setting offers event organisers a choice of indoor and outdoor spaces for weddings, retreats, workshops, family reunions, birthdays, seminars and festivals.

The main space is the Wonderbarn, a 3,800-square-foot timber-framed venue with room for events of up to 200 guests in the published rental packages. The barn includes a covered patio, dressing rooms, accessible heated toilets and a kitchen suitable for caterers to prepare or finish food. Larger gatherings may be possible by arrangement. For smaller occasions, a lakeside pavilion and dock provide an outdoor setting beside the ponds and stream. The grounds also include open meadow space, fire pits and areas for gathering outdoors.

Organisers can choose from weekday, single-day weekend and full-weekend rental packages. Some options include tables, chairs, serving items and access for advance set-up. Wedding packages provide event-day use of the barn and grounds, with selected weekend arrangements also including overnight accommodation. The venue welcomes couples planning ceremonies and receptions, as well as businesses arranging retreats, seminars and workshops.

On-site accommodation options include a farmhouse, cottages, a small house, glamping platforms and camping areas, subject to availability. Guests can also make use of the property’s trails, disc golf course, fishing ponds and outdoor recreation spaces. With event facilities and lodging together in a rural setting, Wonderlust Acres can suit organisers looking to host a gathering and offer guests the option of staying nearby or on the property.
