With more than 30 years of experience in the Hospitality sector and until yesterday employed in her position as Cluster General Manager of the Radisson Blu Hotel and Park Inn hotel in Hasselt, Frédérique is no stranger to the MICE sector. MICE stands for Meetings (meetings), Incentives (reward and motivation trips), Conventions (conferences), Exhibitions (fairs). Frédérique recently went looking for a new challenge in which she can further develop her commercial, organizational and managerial talents within a reputable organization. Today Frédérique Meertens started as department head of PXL-Congress at PXL University of Applied Sciences in Hasselt. Frédérique's greatest passion remains the commercial branch of the business and she would like to realize new projects with the experienced team of PXL-Congress. Director of communication and events Gerrit Schuermans will form a tandem with Frédérique and support her to ensure that all internal and external events run smoothly.
General director Ben Lambrechts explains: “We were actively looking for a passionate person who would like to further develop PXL-Congress as a conference & event location. We were looking for someone with experience and a large network within and outside our province. Thanks to our strategic alliance with SyntraPXL, new opportunities have not only arisen in the field of lifelong learning, but also in the field of events. After corona, we will also actively focus on the experience for our students and visitors on our own campuses and beyond. We are currently already organizing a number of events in close collaboration with Versuz and Muziekodroom, but in the long term we may also organize events in the new TriXXo Arena. There are already some ongoing talks with Limburg event offices for offering teambuilding and pop-ups at our (Syntra)PXL locations.”
“And as if all this wasn't enough, we will soon be coming up with a new exclusive PXL project. But we'll tell you a lot more about that soon …” concludes Lambrechts.
