Boiler Shop

Boiler Shop was constructed in the 1820s for the world’s first locomotive works, Robert Stephenson & Company; crucible of the Industrial Revolution. Rich in engineering history and architectural interest, it is Grade II* Listed. In 2016, owner-custodians, Clouston Group, completed a major restoration and enhancement programme, introducing state of the art facilities to create an exceptional, dynamic space.

Boiler Shop is a beautiful, dramatic and inviting setting for an unforgettable experience, backed with an excellent team to work with you, from enquiry to planning to ensuring everything is just right. Over the last few years, Boiler shop has been hosting some of the city’s most prestigious and exciting gatherings, from live performances, club nights and exhibitions, to food and drink festivals. The venue is perfect for ambitious, memorable events and a broad spectrum of cultural uses. In its event space, Boiler Shop can accommodate up to 400 people for a dining event and up to 1000 people for a club night or a live show.
