About Restaurant Café Modern

A historic building with a story. That we modernize where necessary, but above all preserve the luxurious atmosphere and old soul.

Where girls and boys from Teuven used to go to primary school, there is now “Restaurant Café Modern”.

The terraces on either side used to be the playgrounds for school children. The coat hooks in the hallway and the old blackboards are silent witnesses to the past. The old school has been transformed into a restaurant and is located in the middle of the beautiful surroundings in the Maastricht – Liège – Aachen triangle.

Our party room, which can accommodate approximately 500 guests, is called the Patria room. This room is the former Patronage of Teuven. The hall is centrally located in the beautiful Voer region. The hall is a large and spacious room. When you enter you find yourself in an atmosphere and ambiance of warmth, spaciousness and vintage detail. The hall has a large stage and enough space for a dance floor, where the best memories are made. The hall has renovated toilets, a cloakroom and a spacious bar where your drinks are prepared with lots of love. Due to the large curtains in the middle of the room, the room can also be divided, creating two different rooms or, if you are with a smaller group, this ensures a well-stocked and cozy room. These beautiful curtains also help for great acoustics. The party room has a large terrace where you can relax on beautiful summer evenings. The terrace is shaded on one side by large green trees and on the other side by the restaurant. The terrace is not paved but there are beige-colored pebbles.

We have two rooms in the café restaurant. One room is the Café where the Decap organ is also located, which is only rented out in very exceptional cases. The second room is our so-called restaurant. Here is an original blackboard with a beautiful drawing by the last teacher of this old primary school. This space can serve for your lunch, ceremony, reception, meetings, coffee table or dinner. But of course your own interpretation is the most important. The room is equipped with a pallet stove, sound system and can be completely closed off so that you can enjoy privately and undisturbed, say yes, eat, have a meeting or party. The restaurant also has a small terrace. This is paved with large tiles. There is a large vine hanging. The terrace is decorated with apple crates full of wood. It is also possible to have a wood stove burning here for cozy summer evenings.

Our third place is the large meadow behind Herberg Mother Goose, our neighbors across the street. Herberg Mother Goose owns a large meadow that we can use. This is an idyllic place in the middle of pure nature. There are fruit trees in the meadow and further on you can hear the farm animals enjoying the fresh grass. Here we have the option to place a tent or just a decking floor. This is a beautiful place for your ceremony and/or reception.

Over Restaurant Café Modern

Een historisch pand met een verhaal. Dat we moderniseren waar nodig, maar vooral de luxe sfeer en oude ziel behouden.

Waar vroeger de meisjes en jongens uit Teuven naar de lagere school gingen, is nu “Restaurant Café Modern”.

De terrassen aan weerszijden waren vroeger de speelplaatsen van de schoolkinderen. De kleerhaakjes in de gang en de oude schoolborden zijn stille getuigen van het verleden. De oude school is omgetoverd tot een restaurant en ligt midden in de prachtige omgeving in de driehoek Maastricht – Liège – Aachen.

Onze feestzaal, waar ruimte is voor circa 500 gasten, wordt de Patria-zaal genoemd. Deze zaal is het vroegere Patronaat van Teuven. De zaal staat centraal in de mooie Voerstreek. De zaal is een grote en ruime zaal. Als u binnenkomt bevind u zich in een sfeer en ambiance van warmte, ruimtelijkheid en een detail van vintage. De zaal heeft een groot podium en genoeg plek voor een dansvloer, daar waar de mooiste herinneringen gemaakt worden. In de zaal bevinden zich gerenoveerde toiletten, garderobe en ruime bar waar uw drankjes met veel liefde bereidt worden. Door de grote gordijnen in het midden van de zaal kan de zaal ook opgesplits worden waardoor we twee verschillende ruimtes creëren of als u met een kleiner gezelschap bent zorgt dit voor een goed gevulde en gezellig ruimte. Ook helpen deze prachtige gordijnen voor een geweldige akoestiek. De feestzaal is voorzien van een groot terras waar u op de mooie zomeravonden goed kunt vertoeven. Het terras wordt aan de ene kant beschaduwt door grote groene bomen en aan de andere kant door het restaurant. Het terras is niet bestraat maar er liggen beigekleurige kiezels.

In het café restaurant hebben wij twee ruimtes. Een ruimte is het Café waar zich ook het Decap-orgel bevind, deze wordt enkel op hoge uitzondering verhuurd. De tweede ruimte is ons zogenaamde restaurant. Hier bevind zich nog een origineel schoolbord met een prachtige tekening van de laatste juffrouw van deze oude basisschool. Deze ruimte kan dienen voor uw lunch, ceremonie, receptie, vergaderingen, koffietafel of diner. Maar uiteraard is uw eigen invulling de belangrijkste. De ruimte is voorzien van een palletkachel, geluidinstallatie en kan helemaal afgesloten worden zodat u privé en ongestoord kunt genieten, het ja-woord kunt geven, eten, vergaderen of feesten. Het restaurant heeft ook een klein terras. Dit is bestraat met grote tegels. Er hangt een grote wijnstronk. Het terras is versiert met appelkratten vol met hout. Ook is het mogelijk om hier een houtkachel te laten branden voor de gezellige zomeravonden.

Onze derde plek is het grote weiland achter Herberg Moeder de Gans, onze overburen. Herberg Moeder de Gans is eigenaar van een groot weiland waar wij gebruik van mogen maken. Dit is een idyllische plek midden in de pure natuur. In het weiland staan fruitbomen en verderop hoor je de boerderijdieren genieten van het verse gras. Hier hebben wij de mogelijkheid om een tent te plaatsen of enkel een vlondervloer. Dit is een prachtige plek voor uw ceremonie en/of receptie.
