Open Space for Arts & Community

Open Space for Arts & Community is a flexible venue on Vashon Island, offering indoor and outdoor settings for organisers planning weddings, corporate gatherings, fundraisers, performances and private celebrations. Its industrial-style buildings sit alongside a three-acre meadow framed by Douglas firs, giving hosts a choice of an urban character indoors or a natural setting outdoors. The spaces can be hired individually or combined to suit the event.

The Grand Hall is a 6,250-square-foot space that can accommodate more than 300 guests for seated concerts, fundraisers and private gatherings. For smaller occasions and performances, the Bruce Black Box Theatre covers 1,600 square feet and can host more than 100 people. The meadow provides room for outdoor ceremonies, festivals and other gatherings, with wooded trails and scenic views adding further options for the setting.

Organisers can consider the venue for wedding ceremonies and receptions, business events, auctions, social milestones and arts programming. Inside, a lobby and atrium offer places for guests to meet before a programme, while additional multipurpose rooms support meetings, workshops, lectures, rehearsals and installations.
