CB&Q Freight House

Set in a restored historic railroad building, the CB&Q Freight House offers a distinctive place in Chariton, Iowa, for organisers planning private and community events. The venue welcomes weddings, family gatherings, parties, reunions and meetings, with around 3,700 square feet of indoor space to arrange for the occasion.

The main hall is complemented by a full kitchen, restrooms and a spacious back deck, giving guests room to gather indoors and outdoors. The building's character and history create a setting with a different feel from a conventional function room, while the open hall can accommodate a range of event styles. Organisers can view photos and a layout online to help assess the space before making an enquiry.

Flexible hire options include hourly bookings, a full-day wedding reservation and a weekend wedding package. There are also full-day and half-day rates for graduation parties. Hire periods include time for set-up and clearing away, so organisers should include these tasks when choosing their booking hours. The venue's published details outline the available options, and the team can be contacted to ask questions, arrange a viewing and discuss dates.

Whether you're bringing family together for a reunion, hosting a graduation celebration or planning a wedding, the Freight House provides a welcoming local venue with useful facilities on site. Its combination of historic surroundings, practical amenities and different rental formats makes it suitable for a variety of gatherings in Lucas County.
