Student Life Center, Vanderbilt University

Vanderbilt University's Student Life Center is a campus venue with a range of spaces for meetings and events. Set in Nashville, it brings together a large ballroom, medium-sized function rooms and smaller meeting rooms, giving organisers several options for gatherings of different sizes and formats.

The main space is the Commodore Ballroom, a 9,000-square-foot room that can be divided into three sections. Its layouts accommodate banquets, conferences, ceremonies, large meetings and social functions. Depending on the seating arrangement, the ballroom can host up to 800 people. Event facilities include projection screens, a lectern with microphone and laptop connection, staging options, lighting, digital signage and an adjoining catering kitchen. A pre-function area can be used for guest arrival or a reception before the main programme.

For smaller events, Meeting Rooms 1 and 2 can be arranged separately or divided into sections. They suit meetings, presentations and training, with projection equipment and a lectern available. Meeting Room 3, on the lower level, is a more compact option for discussions or breakout sessions. The centre also lists other spaces, including a boardroom and small rooms for virtual collaboration.

Space requests are handled through Vanderbilt's Student Centers reservation process, and availability and eligibility depend on university policies and approval. The facility is particularly suited to organisers planning Vanderbilt-connected programmes, from departmental gatherings and student events to larger conferences and receptions. Its mix of room sizes and built-in presentation facilities allows organisers to hold a main event and smaller concurrent sessions within the same building.
