Kelter Kohlberg is a historic event venue that is now used for cultural and social occasions. The building dates back to a time when winegrowing shaped the town. The year 1579 can still be seen on the Kelter today. After extensive renovation, the building reopened in 2015, combining its historic character with a spacious, versatile interior.

The Kelter is suitable for events organised by associations, cultural programmes, company parties and certain celebrations connected with a wedding ceremony. The available floor area is around 370 square metres. At maximum capacity, without seating, it can accommodate up to 500 people. The actual capacity depends on the seating arrangements and the event format.

Use is generally limited to the period from 15 April to 15 October. Event organisers can apply to hire the Kelter from Kohlberg council. The building department is responsible for bookings and hire, and can also provide organisers with the current rules and fees for use, as well as the application form. The council regulates how the venue may be used and which types of events are permitted, so it is advisable to discuss the planned occasion and date with them directly in advance. Restrictions apply to wedding parties: the Kelter may be used for a celebration following a church wedding ceremony, but not for a wedding reception. With its history, large open space and role in community life, the Kelter provides a distinctive setting for suitable events in Kohlberg.
